How To Write The Perfect Classified Ad …And How To Use It To Make Sales

The Internet is a major mass media that is free to use. It’s a great place to take advantage of free promotion tools…..no matter the business you are in. The most common place to advertise is free classified sites, but how do you write an ad that works?

A Perfect Ad may not be a work of art, or even very appealing, but for some reason it gets sales for the writer.

Why? Because it is written in complete sentences. The writer has cut out non-essential words to make their ad the required length. They used sentences with action words and used short phrases.

While writing the ad the author will write several versions of it. Trying 4 or 5 at a time. Next they test the ads. Run all of them on free ad sites, newspapers, magazines, or ezines. Include a code or link in the response info in order to know which of the ads produced an inquiry or a sale.

Once you have found out which one works, leave it alone. Don’t fix what’s not broken. Don’t worry about your associates and what they think has become boring. It is your audience that has the opinion that counts.

Now that you have an awesome ad, you want to know where to go. There are thousands of free classified ad sites. These sites are the best way to get a home business to take off, or test a new product, or to supplement your paid advertising.

The down side is that everyone else is using free ads also. Though there are several people getting dozens of leads or sales on a regular basis with free ads.

Tips to make free Internet ads produce results for you.

1. Place your ad on as many sites as possible. Start with a big site. http://www.becanada.com is a large frequently used site.

2. Use software to help. www.roboform.com is a good one.

3. Pay special attention to your ad’s subject line. Use marketing words like new, free, and improved, to get customer’s attention.

4. The Internet turns on free information. Pull people to your site by offering them something.

Once people have gotten to your site they need time to think about whether they want to buy or join. This is where an autp responder can be used.

Put an email box right below your offer. Place it just below the order button. It should say “Would you like more information? Enter your email address in the box and we will send it to you.” have it trigger a three message auto responder, with each message telling the prospect more about the offer, or the benefits of it as well as other helpful information.

It has been known that more than half that ask for information come back to purchase or join.

About 10% of us are true impulse buyers. Though most websites focus on getting us to buy, now. On the contrary, we need time to consider a purchase before we buy.

The series of auto responders arriving one each day will keep a prospects interest.

Include links to your site or to a specific page that you have featured. In most mail programs, putting http:// before your URL turns it into a live link that prospects can click.
